The Role:
A Rehabilitation Consultant is responsible for providing the claims team with advice and support in regard to the appropriateness of rehabilitation engagement and ongoing monitoring and management of external rehabilitation services and programs for customers.
Key Duties and Experience Required:
- Experience managing Life Insurance claims either at an insurer or at a rehabilitation provider.
- Knowledge and ability to provide rehabilitation guidance across a variety of health conditions including cancer, musculoskeletal, mental health etc.
- Knowledge of LICOP
- Understanding and ability to apply Rehabilitation strategies and services across the RTW hierarchy including same employer, new employer and specific wellness related services
- Understanding of TPD and the usage of rehabilitation services to assist with claims management
- Strong written and verbal communicator who can build rapport, display empathy, and manage ongoing expectations in a clear manner
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively influence, communicate and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Receive ongoing professional development opportunities and hands on experience
- Gain industry experience by managing a portfolio of highly complex claims with a real mixture of injuries
- Flexibility to work from home and in office in CBD- close to public transport

About You:
- Tertiary qualified as an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Exercise Physiologist, Psychologist or Rehabilitation Counsellor
- 3+ years Allied Health background
- Equivalent industry accreditation with AHPRA, ESSA or ASORC
- Proven record of developing rehabilitation strategies within the Life Insurance Industry- at least 1 year insurance experience
- Highly experienced in influencing stakeholders on the importance and value of rehabilitation
- Ability to work autonomously as well as within a collaborative team environment when required
